Alvar’s Research on The Great Fire of Meireiki

The great fire of the imperial city of Edo (the former name of the Japanese capital Tokyo) destroyed 60% of the population. The fire started March 2, 1657 and killed 100,000 lives. The fire spread quickly due to very strong winds (like a hurricane) and that houses were built of paper and wood and where built very close to one another.
